NURSING INTERVENTIONS TO PROMOTE CHILD DEVELOPMENT THROUGH BRONFENBRENNER'S BIOECOLOGICAL THEORY

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the benefits and limitations of nursing interventions for promotion child development, according Bioecological Theory Human Development, by Bronfenbrenner. Method: an integrative review, from databases PubMed, Lilacs, CINAHL, Web Science Scopus, using descriptors: "child development" AND "nurses" OR "nursing". No time limit was set publications. The search perfomed in September 2019 update March 2020. Results: 24 studies were selected final sample. predominant type study design clinical trial (60%). home visit most used strategy Seven main themes emerged outcomes interventions: child, maternal health, parenting skills, relationship between nurse mother/father, use social benefits, professional practice, family violence. process component present all studies, portraying relevance proximal interactions environment. Only two had no impact on any outcome. Conclusion: showed outcomes, especially related children parental practices, improved situations interaction caregivers children, reducing punitive practices violence against children. It is essential consider bioecological perspective, so that interventions, promoting are more effective.
